Dear FLE 324 Section 03 members,
You need to choose two task-based presentations and comment on your classmates' performance taking into consideration the following points: the successful aspects of these presentations of your peers that you have observed as well as the aspects that they need to improve in their presentations.
Also evaluate the presentations in terms of the following aspects: the aim of the lesson, the level of active student participation in the lesson, the clarity of the stages, the use of audio/visual aids, the interest level of students, the pacing of the material, the variety of pair/group/individual activities, the clarity of instructions, and the presenters' use of English, the presenters' oral performance in English and their presentation skills.
You need to specify the strong points and points to improve in the presentations as well.
You also need to comment on how properly and thoroughly the group presenters dealt with the three main cycles of the task-based learning process: the pre-task, task-cycle, and the language focus.

In my opinion, their enthusiasm and enjoyable activites are the succesful parts of their presentation. On the other hand, the lesson plan should be more comprehensive. The aim of the lesson was quite to the point and it was developed by various creative activites such as preparing a birthday card. The presenters' English was quite understandable and clear, and they were able to communicate in English and present their subject very well. The activities were linked to each other and the time given to them was enough. By mentioning birthdays and using lots of visual power point slides for it helped them a lot to realize the taks based teaching process without referring too much to the e grammar items.

They used the popular task based song in their presentation, which was quite enjoyable and understandable for the students. I think using such a auditory and enjoyable material in the presentaiton was one of the most succesful parts of their presentaiton. Also, I liked enthusiasm of Alp and he was holding the authority of the class as a teacher. He clearly stated what the students were going to do as an activity also his English was good and understandable. He used white board for the grammar items and give direct grammar points, which doen't overlap the process of the task based teaching. This is the only part that is needed to improve in their presentation. Overally, ı liked and enjoyed their lesson ver much!
Büşra&Züleyha
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, it was really succesful presentation. I liked the idea of prepering birthday party cart. The lesson started with a nice warm up activiy. They asked the students about their birthday parties and what they used for the party. It was attractive because the students liked to share about their special day. The students created their own carts by using their imaginations and preperences. I also liked the idea that students chose the best cart because it helped to motivate them to participate the lesson. The teacher's pronunciation was really clear and understandable. The lesson was appropriate for the task-based lesson. It was one of the best presentations =)
Osman&Ersin
ReplyDeleteThe teacher started lesson with asking students about their holiday plans. Then he himself explain what he would do and mention his favourite cartoon family guy. I think it was really nice warm up. Then we watched the cartoon with subtitles and did a listening activity. I liked these activities because they help me to understand much better. After that the teacher wanted students to create the end of the story according to their own imaginnation. At the end of the lesson students created enjoyable and different endings for the cartoon. I liked the lesson. Good job :)
Emel,Burcu and Ceren
ReplyDeleteIn their presentattion, they started with raising the students' curiosity. This is good thing to do for attracting Students' attention. Their language use and attitudes towards students is very good. I like their teaching style. Other than this, their pronunciation is very good. They can use the materials appropriately. Their visuals are very appropriate for the level. Generally, I like the presentation. But in some parts I want to give some advices to my friends. They can lessen the task alittle bit. Because it is too long to do in one lesson. they can divide the tasks into group and want students to do different parts and tell each other what they did at the end of the lesson.
As I said before. I really like the presentation. Especially teacher's attitudes. :)

Songül and Kübra
ReplyDeletethey selected a widespread story for their presentation. This is very appealing, in my opinion. Listening activity was very understandable. The aim of the lesson was clear. they provide students to participate actively in the classroom activities. They make a lot of activities in the lesson and the stages was clear. their visuals are appropriate for the students. Their pronunciation and language usage are clear and understandable for the students. They speak neturally and their attitudes towards students are vert good. As you can understand, I like the presentation. But I want to say one thing for them. They can ask a few questions about the vocabulary matching activity like ' Did you have a bowl?, Did you have a chair?, ıs it hard? etc.'This can make vocabulary items more understandble.
All in all, I can say that they make a very good presentation. I like it very much.

I really like their presentation. it was quite enjoyable. the level was suiteble for the students.
I like alp's way of teaching. he was criticised a lot but I dont think so. he was quite energitic.
elif was good as well.
There was minor problems in teaching grammar part, because they tried to give the rules like S+V... It was a mistake.
apart from this, I really enjoyed their presentation
Songül/kübra
I liked their presentation as well. they presented the story visually. I think that this was very appropriate for the level of the students. they talked very naturally and the stages of the lesson plan was very clear.
the vocabulary teaching part was very meaningful. they wanted students to match the words with the pictures. it was quite suitable for the level.
I really like their presentation.
Büşra/Züleyha
ReplyDeleteThe task-choice was appropriate for target age-group. Because children at that age really like doing these kind of things that they saw on TV. warm-up was also good. Because children love talking about their birthdays. The task students needed to do didn't just trigger their English, it made use of other skills of students. It required students to be active both mentally and physically. This ensured that they will like the activity. They also made their lesson according to steps of task-based teaching.
Emel/Burcu/Ceren
The made use of curiousity at the beginning.Showing an old material related to the subject was a very good idea and it really attracted attention inthe class. Their language use was very good. The visuals they used was different from most visuals it also helped to keep attention at maximum level. However their lesson was more like introducing their lesson plan. THey could have wanted students to work on the task rather than talking about the task. It may not have worked in the class but a short version of the task could have been made in the class.
Alp- Elif
ReplyDeleteThey chose a funny song to make the lesson more enjoyable and attractive for the young learners. And I think it was very successful on the point of making the lesson more attractive for the young learners. Alp's way of teaching was also good. He used humour not to make the the students bored and I think the young learners would love his way of teaching. There were some criticisizm about his shouting at the students but I think it was not a problem. He just tried to provide an energetic lesson. And he was successful. His instructions were also clear and understandable. But he taught the grammar points directly by writing the rules on the board. I think it was not appropriate for task based teaching. And this kind of teaching method (writing the rules on the board) can be boring for the young learners and it is not an attractive way of teaching. Out of this I think they were successful and the lesson was very energetic and enjoyable.
Büşra- Züleyha
They started the lesson by asking the students about their birthday parties. And by this way they atracted the attention of the students to the lesson. Because the topic (birthday parties) was very interesting topic for the young learners and everybody wanted to speak about their birthday parties. By this way they made the students active. After that they wanted us to prepare our birthday party card and it was also very stimulating activity for the young learners. And finally they wanted us to choose the most beautiful card this was also enjoyable. Moreover, with the help of this activity the students use their creativity and it is good for improving their imagination.
Their way of teaching was successful and their English was also clear and understandable.
Their presentation was successful and appropriate for the young learners.
Alp&Elif
ReplyDeletetheir presentation was quite enjoyable. I really liked Alp' teaching. He was holding the control of the whole class. They used a song for their presentation and that was quite fun and understandable for the students. They explained what the students would do in the activity. I liked their activity choosing and their lesson plan.
Emel-Burcu-Ceren
ReplyDeleteI liked their presentation. At the beginning of the lesson they tried to attract students' attention. This helped students to involve in the activity. I really liked their attitudes towards students. Their pronunciation and activity preferences was really successful. They just held the activity a bit longer. Except that, everything was quite well.
Emel,Burcu and Ceren
ReplyDeleteActaully I liked the pink journal that Emel showed at the begining of the lesson. It took the ateention of the students. Also I liked the Burcu's presentation which was about how to make a journal. Actually the task was a bit diffucult. But I think if it had been in a real classroom atmosphere and hour, It would not be so challenging. Then the students can have more time to complete the task. But it was a presentation, the time was limited for us to complete the task. Apart from that I like their pronouncation.Genarally ıt was an effective presentation
Ozan and Salih
ReplyDeleteThe level of the students and the task were compatible with each other.Actually the tasks are ample and interesting. So the possibility of the students to induct the grammar rules was high. Also there was a language focus part which could increase the concsious learning. Also activities were not much challenging. It was generally effective lesson.
Emel-Burcu-Ceren
ReplyDeletethey have chosen nice, interesting and unusual topic to attract students' attention. the idea of pink journal is the best thing for the warm up part. the presentation that burcu presented was also interesting. she has used prezi.com and this is something new and interesting for the students. their pronunciation was pretty well only the thing they have to think is task they have given. it was a little bit above the level and the time was limited. other that that they had awesome presentation.
Task Based
ReplyDeleteSongul Tas and Kubra Sahinoglu
In this presentation the thing that I liked very much was the listening of the story because it will not only help visually understanding of the story but also will improve their pronunciation. It is very important to give appropriate input to the students so listening was perfect idea. The things that I did not like were the writing part and introduction to vocabulary. But I think it was because the student teachers did not have any practice in teaching writing and it is really difficult for students to understand the tasks. Moreover, when the students do not have sample or example or explanation of what they are supposed to do with the tasks they get lost and begin to misbehave. In the vocabulary parts I think they should have introduced the vocabulary first and then have asked the students to match the vocabulary. Nevertheless, it was very good in many aspects like enthusiastic teaching and being friendly during the lesson. I think they will be very good teachers in the future.
Alp Tekgul and Elif Cevik
In this presentation I liked role playing, scrambling the story after the role play, cutting bears and then again playing the story with cut bears. I liked how they put them by order and how they used everything well. However, only one thing that got my attention that scrambling the story was very complicated; therefore, I think it would be better to remove it into the end of the lesson so that the students did get lost. It was very enjoyable lesson and I had much fun in the lesson. In teaching the student teacher was good enough and had little problems however I believe that in the future he will improve himself and will be very excellent model teacher to be envy.
Büşra and Züleyha
ReplyDeleteThey easily managed to atract the attention of the students in the class. There was no classroom management problem.I think because of the fact that the topic, which was birthday parties, was approprate for them. They all wanted to comment on the topic. Their activities and cards are really creative and attention drawer.
Alp and Elif
Their presentation was really good. I liked it very much. They were also very energetic. It was quite enjoyable. the level was suitable for the students.
Especially Alp was very profession-like. He did not hesitate to move around the students.
They tought grammar in the way that we do in advance classes. It was a silly mistake but they must be careful about the level and the age when applying an approach.
Alp/Elif
ReplyDeleteın my opinion, Alp is a googd teacher and he has his own style. apart from personal differences, their presentation was quite good. they used the techniques effectively. they used the board, tried to make the students partcipate in the lesson and also listened them. they gave them some unmanageable tasks for the level and used some abstract structures and rules to teach the grammar. but, a teacher should not forget that young learners may not understand the abstract rules by writing the on the board.
Büşra/ Züleyha
their presentation was enjoyable and attractive. they used birthday parties to make the students write an invitation. their topic was appropriate for the their task. thep listened to everybody and they were very interactive during the lecture. they used the board affectively and appropriate to their aims. ı liked their presentation.

I like their vocabulary activity very much but I think they should provide an explanation first. I think they should introduced some vocabulary first and then have asked the students to match the vocabulary. Also language focus should be icluded in the lesson. But I like the listening story part. Although I think that it is a little bit difficult for the language level, it was a good idea to provide the listening activity. This will help understanding of the story, acquire the language more easily and provide more input to the students improving their pronunciation as well. However, teacher can ask further questions to students. The pictures are good prompts but they should also be related to real life of students. All in all it was an anthusiastic lesson and we learned many things and the lesson provide an example with its pros and cons.
Alp /Elif
In this presentation the thing that I liked very much was Alp was very energetic teacher and the lesson was very enjoyable. He managed the class very good walked around, checked all the students, he tried to include all the students in the lesson. Presenting the SVO structure to students is a mistake but we already talked about it in the classroom but Alp’s explanation the past tense in the language focus part is very good. The level of the lesson was appropriate with the students’ level.
Also role playing activity and scrambling the story after the role play idea was very clever. They said they would make students cut bears in the lesson plan and then the teacher playing the story with cut bears. I like the order and how the studenys are made engaged in the activities. They planned everything very carefully. Ordering the pictures in a group activity is very good in order to get the student’s attention. The lesson was very enjoyable and I had fun while doing activities.

Their lesson had a really smooth plan. the activites were quite related to each other and the transition among them was successful. they were also enjoyable. However, some tasks were hard for the level. They might have been adjusted to the level by making them not individual tasks but group tasks. the teacher used the board effectively, but I wish it hadn't been used for the grammar instruction. As the students are the young learners, they have difficulty in understanding the abstract rules. therefore, it is not suitable to teach them the structure like math formula. after all, the teacher was very energetic and motivating in the classroom.
Büşra / Züleyha
their was very enjoyable because their task choice was quite successful. they chose birthday invitation writing task which is an attractive activity for the students. the students used their own styles and wrote thier invitations. at the end of the lesson, very creative and enjoyable invitations were produced by the students. the lesosn was interactive and the teachers were both motivating and energetic. to sum up, their presentation was successful and appropriate for the level.
Sedef/ Belgin
ReplyDeleteTheir subject was related to newspapers . They did not have enough time to make demonstration. They just explained us their lesson plan. However, I liked it so much . They showed us important news from various newspapers. They were really atractive. They had various activities. These activities related to each other and very appropriate for their level. Their transition among activities was perfect. Their presentation and pronunciation was really good. They also brought newspapers to the class to read. Using authentic metarials are useful so their meterials were really authentic and attractive. If they had had a chance to make demonstration , we would have really enjoyable lesson.
Züleyha/Büşra
Their subject was related to birthdays. Their task was writing invitation card for birthday. They started to lesson with asking questions such as “ who has birthday this month? How will we celebrate it or how did we celebrate?” This was really good starting to warm the students to the subject. They showed us a PPT explaining important vocabularies which we need during the lesson. It had a lot of colorful pictures. Then, we draw our dream birthday party and explained it to the class. They also showed us example birthday card. Thanks to it we understood how to write it. We wrote invitation card as a group and they wandered among the groups and helped us when we need help. Then groups read their cards. Their activities were realy authentic and attractive. Their transition between activities was perfect. Their pronunciations were good. They smiled and encouraged us to speak during the lesson. I was really enjoyed during the lesson.
Büşra/Züleyha
ReplyDeleteTo begin with, the harmony between these two members were excellent. I think this is because they are close friends. The topic "birthday" was also perfect because students are really enthusiastic about talking about that kind of special days. They promoted students to talk by asking some questions about birthday and they made students prepare a birthday card and every studentd prepared one. Then they showed their cards and students chose the best one. During the lesson, they were really warm blooded and energetic. The lesson was generally good and it showed all the characteristics of a task based lesson.
Emel/Burcu/Ceren
They used extraordinary visuals during the lesson. That was attractive for the students. It has drawn all the attention. Besides, they presented the visuals very well. They were all very good at fluency. The only drawback of the lesson was the time limitation for the activities. All the other things were really fine.
Salih & Ozan
ReplyDeleteThere were various activities for students with different intelligences. For instance, If some students do not like writing they can contribute to the lesson witth short answer exercises. Festival is a good and interesting topic and appropriate for the target students. Talking about festival in the university is useful for warm- up session. I think sometimes teachers did not seem enthusiastic to teach when students gave up talking. This could be improved. There would have been listening activities. The aim of the lesson was clear.Grammar was thaught through task based learning, but pair work was more than group activities.Stages were clear and there was a smooth transition between stages. Their way of using English was also good.
Eme, Ceren & Burcu
ReplyDeleteI think pronunciation of all presenters were clear was qualified. Writing vocabulary items on the board was useful to make the understanding better. Burcu's presentation was colorful, which is effective for people in every age. Task was too long to do in an hour. Teacher may have wanted us to choose one wriring topic and do it as a group. As the level of the students were advanced, they may need to talk more. Visuals were effective. Oral communication was good. There were not much pair activities. Pink newspaper was interesting and good introduction. Talking about parts of the newspaper was informative for me, because ı did not know two terms thaught in the lesson.

In this presentaion the activities were successfully integrated to the topic. The transition among them was also successful. However, the language focus was missing in the lesson I think it should be provided before the activities. The vocabulary activity was good planned to prepare students for the lesson. The teachers in this presentaion wanted students to use their imagination by writing a story about the topic however considering the students level it was early and it wasn't proper at that stage.Overall, it was a nice presentation.
Alp & Elif
What I liked most in this presentation was the flow of the lesson; it was quite natural on the other hand there were some missing points. I think the language used in the lesson should be proper for the level of the students. The language focus (past tense) was provided and it was necessary for the activity however considering the students are in the beginner level it shouldn't be provided like a formula (SOV).Lastly the teacher gave clear instructions during the lesson and it was an enjoyable presentation.
Salih/Ozan
ReplyDeleteTheir topic is quite interesting and appropriate for the level of students. Transition among the activies is succesful. They were well-prepared. Students. they're motivated. The aim of the lesson is clear. the language of the teachers should be more suitable. to sum up, there is nothing I criticized in a bad way. I have fun while doing the activities. The class participated the lesson effectively. The best thing about the lesson is that it is really easy and convenient to apply this lesson plan in a real classroom.
Ersin&Osman
The "Family Guy" idea was really creative and easy to apply. Since the students' level was advanced, the language of the cartoon is appropriate for them. It started well. The warming-ups was succesful. In the main part, students watched the cartoon and it was really attractive. Teacher introduced the post activity, it was related with the cartoon. Students were required to write their own endings for the cartoon and it was also nice. However, I felt like that the lesson didn't finished smoothly, there was a corruption. They should revise their lesson plans' end.
Alp and Elif
ReplyDeleteAlthough they were the third group presenting the same song, they managed to get our attention. We weren't bored with their lesson, Alp is really good at teaching, he has perpect classroom management skills also they were so enthusiastic about the lesson. The activities and their order were perfect. The only thing that could be developed is that teaching SVO is too abstract for the level they can make it more concrete. Anyway, everything is good, thanks to them :)
Sedef and Belgin
Altough they didn't have the time to make demonstration, their lesson plan was really enjoyable. They used some authentic materials, the lesson plan was related to newspapers and they had brought really enjoyable and interseting news from the newspapers. They were both smiling and their instructions were clear enough.I really liked their lesson plan and their teaching styles.
Büşra and Züleyha
ReplyDeleteI liked their activity very much as it was enjoyable, students not only developed their speaking skills in the lesson but also were given an opportunity to select and create their own parties improving interpersonal relationships and getting into compromises. Activities were sequenced in an appropriate manner and paced well. It was a powerful lesson but due to the low number of students they could not eject a lot of ideas in pre task phase, similarly as some people are not that creative as others ss might be into trouble to construct a nice B-day card.
Songül and Kübra
Pretty nice story was accomplished with really good and quality cartoon video that could strike students’ attention. The lesson was clear and all stages were presented. Activities were paced well. They were enthusiastic teachers and they wanted the student to participate in the lesson. It was a good presentation that the majority of us liked.
The one point that may be taken into consideration is that teachers in all of the presentations may have asked questions to personify the lesson to the students. In other words, questions that can be related to the students’ personal lives may have been asked.
Songül&kübra
ReplyDeleteI really liked their presentatio. they presented the story by using visual objects. I think this was very appropriate for the level of the students. They talked very naturally and transition between the stages were very smooth.
the vocabulary teaching part was very meaningful. they wanted students to match the words with the pictures. it was quite suitable for the level. I really like their presentation.

ReplyDeleteBüşra and Züleyha
First of all, in task based language teaching the teacher uses tasks as a means to apply the principles of language teaching and also tries to create a natural context to do that. Büşra and Züleyha managed to create a natural context by drawing the attention of the students on the topic and the topic was an attractive one. In addition, they gave the instructions clearly, monitored every stage, answered their questions, used colorful activities, formed group activities, kept the students on task, positively reinforced them, and stimulated the students to actively participate by overcoming the psychological barriers between the student and the teacher. Moreover, they used the board effectively and kept adding the new information to the board so even if the students' attention get distracted they could easily understand what they are discussing by just looking at the board. Using music while the students are brainstorming is a good method to create a relax environment. The last thing is that they have the example of everything ready in their presentation. Without showing the examples or giving ideas by directing questions, they didn't give a start to any activity. These are some of the successful aspects of this presentation.
The aspects that they need to improve are their not teaching any vocabulary related to the topic. They assumed that everybody knows the words related to the birthday concept but if they had thought some new vocabulary to the students, they may have learned new words and used them while preparing their party with their groups. They also didn't state the time while giving instructions. It would be better if the students know how much time left to be able to complete their activities.
Other than these points, they have clearly planned all the three cycles of the task based learning.
...............................................
Merve and Burcu
Their presenation topic was up to date that's why it takes the attention of the students. They were positive and that increased the participation. Burcu gave examples from her life which was encouraging for the students to contribute and make comments from their lives. The materials were related to the topic and well prepared. While forming the groups, Merve gave the instructions clearly and monitored the students. The language was fluent and the pronunciation was good enough. They also used positive reinforcement. However, the only thing that took my attention is that the instructions were not very clear, they behaved as if the students already know the activities and they never checked whether or not the students understood the activity and the instructions.
Büşra-Züleyha
ReplyDeleteI think their presentation was very appropriate for the target age group because the birthdays are always enjoyable for children even for us. I like their warm up activity because it was very useful to motivate the students for the lesson and it really took their attention. Preparing birthday cards is attractive and efficient because it improves them both mentally and physically.
In addition, I like the teacher’s attitudes towards the students and her speaking skills. Her speaking was fluent and clear, that is, it could be easily understand. They also made their lesson according to the task based steps. It was a good lesson.
Emel-Burcu-Ceren
ReplyDeleteI think their performance was very good and use of visual items was very effective. Pronouncation of all presenters was very fluent and understanble. They really spoke to the point. Burcu’s presentation was attractive and informative for all ,especially pink newspaper was the best introduction to the lesson. The only negative thing in the presantation was the time limitation but this was not a big problem. I really like the presantation!
Alp/Elif
ReplyDeleteI really liked their presentation and their way of teaching. The activities were quite useful in terms of the student's level and interests according to their ages.
We didn't have a chance to monitor the other teacher's performance but the one who is presenting, Alp, was quite encouraging and took all the attention of the students. He was a bit more dominant but I think the students felt ok, at least there wasn't any problem with me.
The visuals and their language were appropriate. The only thing that shouldn't have done was giving instructions like formulas; however, they explained their reason at the end of the lesson. Briefly, I liked their presentation and I think it is usable for teaching.
ALP / ELİF
ReplyDeleteI think it was among the good presentations. The teachers were very enthusiastic and energetic so that they cpould motivate the students easily. Also the activities were suitable to the level of the students. Because the time limitation the teacher hurried a little bit but it was not a problem. However, the teachers could follow a different way to teach grammar. Good job :)
BÜŞRA/ ZÜLEYHA
ReplyDeleteThe presentation topic was about birthday. I can say that that topic was pretty suitable to the level of the students. Again, the activities were prepared in a good way so that the students did not have any problems during the lesson. Moreover, the teachers' pronunciation was very good and it helped a lot to keep students awake. Thanks for that enjoble lesson.
Osman / Ersin
ReplyDeleteTheir lesson was very enjoyable. Thet showed a video of a cartoon and asked their students to complete the end of the story. This topic was very authentic because the most enjoyable thing that we can use in classroom environment is exactly a cartoon! At the end of the lesson, the students came up with lots of different, creative and enjoyable endings of the cartoon. Thanks for this good presentation.
Büşra/ Züleyha
ReplyDeleteFirstly, the topic of their lesson was very attractive for the students because they love talking about special days very much. The teachers were very enthusiactic about teaching and they had a smiling face during whole lesson. They made students talk to each other about birthdays and made them prepare a birthday card. But they showed some card examples before the activity and helped the students during the activity. Then everybody read their own birthday card. The lesson was very enjoyable and it was really a good example of task based learning.
Burcu&Ceren&Emel
ReplyDeleteat the beginning of the lesson Emel showed us a pink newspaper which took our attention so the first part of the lesson was pretty good. Secondly Burcu showed us the parts of a newspaper and what kind of thins these parts include. The presentation of her was good and her presentation was professional. At the task giving part Ceren gave us handouts related to news and wanted us to summarize it. The task was a little bit confused for us but she could use a text passage which is more interesting. The teachers were all smiling so we were relaxed during the lesson. ,
Ozan& Salih
the topic of the lesson was appropriate for the level of the students and the exercise were appropriate. The grammar topic and teachers showing us a poster related to the topic took our attention. They encouraged us to participate in the lesson and the pictures they have showed were good for taking attention also.
Burcu&Ceren&Emel
ReplyDeletetheir presentation was good in terms of introduction and the topic. First Emel introduced us the topic and she brought us a newspaper which is different. Then burcu showed us the parts of a newspaper and she also presented well. She used clear expressions to make us ready for completing the task exercise. Then ceren wanted from us to read the news she gave and summarize it. Generally the lesson was good.
Ozan& Salih
they chose holidays as topic. Their introduction part was good. The passage they gave was appropriate for the level of the students and the exercises also. They wanted us to write a letter to a friend. This kind of exercises can help students to make free production so this exercise was good also. they showed us a poster which was colorful so it was attention taking.

ReplyDeleteThe lesson topic may be a little above the level but I really like their lesson. They have chosen a good start for their lesson and their topic with a newspaper. Then again it's very clever to make students guess what's happening in the pictures. After that they read some newspaper news which are very authentic materials. Then the students are expected to write their own news using the structures while and when. It is guite easy for that age group ve create an imaginary event and also use the structure in correct form. So I find the lesson very successful.
Ceren-Burcu-Emel
The teacher starts the lesson with an unusual way and makes it more interesting by showing them a pin paper. Then she gives detail information about that newspaper in lead-in stage. I think the lead-in part was unnecessarily long to give needless information. In the pre-task stage the teacher demonstrates the part of a newspaper design and explains them briefly, which is quite a good preparation for composing a newspaper. The topic, the tasks given and the presenters’ language use were appropriate for the level. The lesson lack student participation a little bit but overall it was a very good lesson with authentic and technologic materials which were presented well.

ReplyDeleteıthink they chose a funny and popular story and song to make the lesson more enjoyable and attractive for the young learners. And I think it was very successful on making the lesson more attractive for the young learners. Alp's way of teaching was also good as he seemed like an experienced teacher and he seemed cool. He used humour not to make the the students bored and I think the young learners would love his way of teaching. instructions were given clearly, properly and in an understandable way also. the way his giving the rules by writing on the board is the only thing that disturbed me during the lesson.ı think the students at tis level don't have abstract knowledge, so it is difficult to learn the rules deductively. ın general, this lesson was a successful and useful one for young learners.
Osman&Ersin
Their lesson also successful according to me. one of the points that ı liked in their lesson was their starting the lesson by asking question. ı thing asking question to the students will make students attracted and integrated in the lesson. the teacher explained his plans and ı think as the students are very curious and interested in teachers' private life this is also a good way of taking their attention. I think it was really nice warm up. I liked the activities also as they tried to make students use their imagination during the activities. ı think the students enjoyed the lesson and this lesson was very helpful and understandable one.

ReplyDeleteI really like their presentation. it was quite enjoyable. The level was suitable for the students.
I like Alp's way of teaching. He was criticised a lot but I think it was not necessary. He was quite energitic and if we consider that he was actually not the one who was planned for the part of teching, he was quite successful.
elif was very relaxed and good as well.
There were minor problems in teaching the grammar part, because they tried to give the rules like S+V... It was a not appropriate.
Apart from this, I really enjoyed their presentation. For me it was one of the best presentations.

The level of the students and the task were compatible with each other.Actually the tasks are ample and interesting. So the possibility of the students to induct the grammar rules was high. Also there was a language focus part which could increase the concsious learning. Also activities were not much challenging. It was generally effective lesson.

ReplyDeleteI think their presentation was really goodd :)) Firts of all Alp has his own teaching style and it is very apparent that he is experienced in teaching :) They used the popular task based song in their presentation, which was quite enjoyable and understandable for the students. Only thing is that he could have used direct grammar.
In short, it was very successfull !! :))

ReplyDeleteThe topic of the lesson and level of the exercises were appropriate for the students. The grammar topic took tha attention and the teacher gained even more attention by showing the students a poster. Such visual aids contributed to the efficiency of the teaching.
Teachers also encouraged students to participate in the lesson and the pictures they have showed were good for taking attention as well :))
