ReplyDeleteThe lesson was designed according to communicative approach. The teacher is supportive and motivator. Group activities and discussions were used in class.
In the lesson in communicative approach video, the lesson start with 'class action' which is making groups and provide them to talk about a certain topic, then students stand up and draw something to board. After that, one of the students takls about why she learn English. I think this is for providing them to talk, namely, communicate again. Another activity in the video is teacher ask questions to students and the students who knows the answer stand up. I think this is related to total physical approach. Their answers is related to communşcative approach again. In general, teacher try to provide students with teacher to student and student to student communication. I attach the link for you to watch it.

ReplyDeletethe lesson was designed according to the communicative approach.
students select an envelop and try to discuss the subject within the groups and then they will present it to the class.
in this way, students will have information about different topics while they are getting input for the language.
they will have the chance of presenting their ideas with using free structures.
they have no limitation for using certain structures, in this way, they can feel more free to use the language. and they have the chance of correcting their mistakes with looking at their friensd's use of those structures.
teacher will be in the role of motivator and facilitator.

ReplyDeleteThe way the teacher warms up the students with some questions related to the lesson is succesful. Then, she tries to give some vocabulary to the students that they will need later on while communicating, which was necessary. She involved the students by making them write the vocab. on the board however I didn't like the fact that all the students were wandering around the classroom. Sample dialogue made by the teachers was a strong point.
After the students communicated with each other, the teacher made the students share it with the classroom, which created a nice atmosphere in the classroom since the students were sharing some facts about their friends.

ReplyDeleteIn this video there are two teachers and they want from students to make spontaneous dialogs among themselves. They make some sample sentences which can give students an idea about what they can ask each other. Also the teachers say that they can help the students if they encounter with a problem while they are making dialogs. The teachers are encouraging and motivating students to make communication among themselves

ReplyDeletethis video is good example for the communicative teaching. the teacher is really good at warm up. she asks several questions in order to make the lesson interesting and she really encourages students to participate. students come to board and writes something on the board. it makes the lesson more interesting. at the end she asks for group work and plays role play in order to make her instruction more clear.

ReplyDeleteI think, this video explains the major roles of communicative language teaching. It mainly deals with integrating 4 skills with the help of clt. It also talks about importance of communication and what we need to communicate with the other people. It also alks about receptive and productive skills and their roles in communication. In CLT meaning and form phonomenons are important. The video mentions them too. For interaction we need communication and Clt is one of the methods of which main concern is communication.

ReplyDeleteın tis video, students are interacting continuously and their guide is teacher instead of an authority. there is a group work going on interactively and a student is coming in front of the classroom and giving the instruction. all students are woring in groups and they are commenting on pictures and sharing their findings with the classroom. this is appropriate for the communicative approach and also, classroom atmosphere is relaxed and encouraging students to join the lecture. this is a good example of communicative approach with ample speaking and listening.

In the video the teacher managed with the class very effectively. They read the book all together. The teacher make the class read the book attentively. Although it was not a a task based learning video I came up with this video while searching and it includes very good examples of some lessons.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdidE3Dl9sw&feature=related Teacher uses other instruments such as computer and visuals very effectively. It can provide examples for us.

ReplyDeleteThis video is on French teaching as a foreign language. the teacher used communicative approach. she used thetarget language in the classroom. the students consist of both native and nonnative students. teacher sees this as an advantage as the native students help the nonnative ones. however, I think this may be discouraging for the native students because most probably the structures and the topics are already under their levels. the teacher makes use of small gruops during the lessons. they create stories based on the readings done before. ın that way, the students use their imagination using the target language and learb the structure in a context. they have their personal dictionaries to help the vocabulary learning. the discussions happen in the classroom to make the atmosphere communicative as much as possible. Finally, the teacher has a great rapport with the class. She is supportive and encouraging. this approach of the teacher is also very beneficial because it helps the students to destroy their emotional barriers towards the lesson.

ReplyDeleteThe lesson was designed according to communicative language teaching. And the activities the students do were also appropriate for communicative language teaching. They spoke in groups and the teacher observed them while they were speaking. By this way the teacher created a comfortable environment for the students to share their ideas with each other. And then she wanted them share the speech with the rest of he class. It was a beneficial and enjoyable lesson. The teacher was very caring and motivating.

ReplyDeleteCommunicative approach is applied in this lesson
Teacher is in the role of motivator and facilitator.

ReplyDeletein this video the teacher teaches the pronunciation and words usage. it is really effective because he gives examples from real life and demonstrate every example. moreover, he communicate with students and have a fun with them, also he tries to keep the mood of the lesson very energetic. also he is very enthusiastic his lesson and keep the interests of the students up. moreover in his teaching he teaches everything they need for their daily life and not thourgh the grammar..
In the communicative language teaching video, the teacher's role is facilitator. Teacher starts the activity and helps the students if necessary. Students randomly pick an envelope in which certain topics exist. After the students read it, they start talking about their topic. By this way, students get information about the topic and they have the opportunity to mention the topic in their own words. This improves their creativity and their general knowledge.

ReplyDeletethe lesson was desingned according to communicative approach. Teacher starts the lesson with asking several questions to students about their weekend. After students’ answers teacher summorize students’ sayings and talks about her own weekend. Then, she shows some pictures by PPT. In these pictures there are events, teacher wants them to explain it. But, she does not want one of the students to explain it instead she starts yes/ no question and goes on short-answer questions. This is very appropriate for their level and all of the students have chance to speak without fear or feel themselves under pressure.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OE6tJ9aWrc&feature=related
ReplyDeleteIn the video teachers undertake the role of motivator and guide. Lesson is student centered and seats are designed to be form groups easily. Teachers demonstrate the activity the first and then ask students to do it. Students work together and communicate each other to perform well in the task. There is not a strict rule forced by teacher to students, but learning process takes place in a warm and friendly environment.

ReplyDeleteIn this video, the lesson is designed according to communicative approach. In the video the stages of the lesson are very clear. As a warm up teacher asks questions to the students related with the topic. The questions don't require long sentences but just one word answers which is the quality that I liked in this video. Teacher activates the students' schemata. She writes the names of the topics on the board like hobbies, best friend etc.Students are always active during the lesson. With these activities teacher prepares the students for the practice activity. And teacher also gives understandable instructions for the activities.

ReplyDeleteThis is a video of a Spanish class taught to young learners. Even though the video does not follow a sequence and includes partial footages of the lesson, i think it is a good example to show that communicative approach can be applied with low-proficiency students. The teacher first introduces the voacbulary via powerpoint presentation with pictures and then distributes flashcards including the pictures of the items. Then she asks students to color it (presumably colors are learned in the previous lessons). The teacher monitors the students, circulates the classroom and by all means talks in the target language, in this case Spanish.

In this video teacher teaches past simple negatives using communicative approach. She always make all the student, all the class to answer her prompts. The video can be a good example how to practice grammar structures in communicative approach.

ReplyDeleteThe teacher asks questions that are related to students' favorites to attract students' interest all the students are involved to the lesson. The lesson is student centered and the teacher asks different questions to involve all students. The students write some vocabulary items on the board thus the focus is not just on listening and speaking but also on writing. The students make groups of three and work cooperatively. I think, this video is a good example of communicative teaching, but because the classroom is very crowded it is a little noisy.

ReplyDeleteIn this video, the teacher's role is a facilitator and a motivator. She asks students choose a card and do their role-play according to the information given in the cards. Then, she steps back and observes them when the students are doing their role-play tasks.
this video summarizes the typical class in which communicative language teaching is employed. the teacher seems very experienced about what she is doingç therefore we can make use of her suggestions and applications in the class.

ReplyDeleteThe lesson is a very good example of communicative teaching. First of all, the teacher makes an example communication with her mate. After that, gives the instruction to the students about their communcation and let them communicate in groups. After the activity is done, the teacher gets the reflections.

ReplyDeleteIn this video the teacher teaches grammar in an inductive way and make the students participate the lesson actively. By this way the students can comprehend the rules easily and use them correctly. This video shows us how to use communicative approach in grammar classes.

ReplyDeleteThis video contains a proper sample lesson for communicative language teaching. Firstly the sitting order of the students is very convenient for communication. Students sit face to face in groups each of four, reflecting the communication aspect of CLT. The teacher introduces the topic of lesson at the beginning: how to build questions. She gave them some sentences and ask them to make questions related to these sentences. According to the CLT the students are extensively involved in the learning process and therefore they are more motivated and attentive. The teacher also behaves accordingly to CLT principles. She guides the students, give clear and brief instructions about what they are supposed to do and monitor them carefully while they are doing groupwork so as they do not speak in their native language, which is a handicap for CLT. And she uses target language in class always, which is an important principle of CLT also.
http://www.youtube.com/watch v=5bW15RpON9M&feature=related
ReplyDeleteIn this video, the teacher asks some questions so as to make students speak. The teacher is facilitator and she tries to motivate the students to speak in the target language. As can be seen in the video, the teacher uses the board and it is a good way to help students to develop their vocabulary knowledge. I think grouping is the most important feature in communicative language teaching as the students are together in goups they can find something to speak easily.

The video is a part of a lesson and it shows an activity. In this activity there is information gap and the children are trying to communicate and describe their pictures to their partners. The communication may be is not genuine. I mean in everyday life we don’t compare pictures to our friends’. However as the aim make the students communicate through an interesting activity with information gap, I liked it.

In this video the rope of the teacher is more like a facilitator. First she explaines what they will do with the envelopes and each group pick an envelope. Each envelope has a different topic that students comment on. After they finish talking, they act out. The teacher helps them if necessary.
This envelope improves student's creativity and speaking skills. :))
http://youtu.be/hJqw_4hkuuo
ReplyDeleteIn the video students act out a situation as a group and the others try to guess the situation. I think the video is a perfect example of communicative language teaching because not only the activity provide them with chance to talk but also enjoyment and laughters, which keeps students' involvement at maximum level. Another point is that the most preferred acticity of clt by me definitely would be act out as it is one of the best communicative language teaching activity.

ReplyDeleteIn this video, we can easily realize the teacher's position as the guide in the classroom, in terms of giving instruction and classroom management, teacher is a good facilitator in this context. this video is a good example of CLT teaching also because target language is used in the classroom very clearly and with direct instructions. For a better communication process and actually some kind of activities fitting CLT method, teacher and students behaves accordingly. Classroom management routines are also practiced in this context for a CLT class.

ReplyDeleteın this video, the features of CLT are introduced basicly. It mentions that the main focus İn CLT is on meaning not on grammar. The rules aren't given directly, students adopts the rules via communication.
